Eight strong firms across three delivery tiers, described from their own published materials — plus the questions that separate a safe choice from an expensive one. One of the eight is us, and we tell you when the others are the better fit.
How this comparison was built
Every third-party fact on this page comes from the vendor’s own published website at the time of review (September 2026) and is attributed as such — certifications, headcounts, client names and price ranges are their claims, not our verification. We do not rank the eight; they serve different buyers at different budgets, so we group them by tier and say who each is best for.
Disclosure: this guide is published by Timeline Digital. Our own entry follows the same rules as the rest — only publicly documented claims — and the section “When Timeline Digital is not the right choice” below is exactly what it sounds like.
What actually separates ERP vendors
Verifiable proof, not volume claims
Named case studies with outcomes beat "1,000+ projects" every time. Where a vendor cannot name clients, look for anonymized case studies with concrete scope and honest constraints — and treat metrics you cannot verify with caution, including ours.
Published pricing behaviour
Vendors serious about a market segment publish how they price — ranges, tiers, a cost methodology, or a written-quote commitment. Total silence on money usually means the price depends on what you look like.
IP and source-code terms in writing
The single most expensive surprise in custom ERP is discovering you do not own what you paid for. Ask for the assignment clause, repository handover terms, and what the vendor retains, before you sign.
A process with named artifacts
Requirements documents, prototypes, UAT checklists, deployment logs. A vendor that names its deliverables per phase can be held to them; "agile" with no artifacts cannot.
Honest certification posture
ISO 27001 or SOC 2 matter if your procurement requires them — and a vendor that clearly states what it does NOT hold is safer than one that says "compliant with" everything.
Delivery-model fit
Onshore boutiques, global consultancies and offshore teams are different products at different prices. Decide the model first (budget, data-residency rules, overlap hours), then compare within the tier.
The eight companies, by tier
ScienceSoft
Enterprise consultancy
McKinney, Texas, USA
A US-headquartered enterprise software consultancy whose published materials cite ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certification, a Microsoft partnership dating to 2008, and a large page of named, credentialed experts. Its custom-ERP page openly publishes budget ranges — roughly $200,000 to $500,000 per ERP module and $1,500,000+ for an all-in-one platform — which tells you the scale of engagement it is built for.
Best for: Large enterprises that need audited certifications, formal consulting depth and seven-figure programme capacity.
Pricing transparency: Publishes module-level ranges and a cost-estimation methodology
A global engineering firm, per its own materials founded in 1998 with 3,000+ employees and offices in the US, London and Berlin. Its ERP content is the deepest in this list — a full silo covering custom ERP, implementation, integration, industry variants and a detailed implementation-cost guide quoting roughly $50,000 to $1,000,000 for platform-based builds and $1M+ for fully custom systems, including competitor licence pricing.
Best for: Organisations choosing between platform-based (Odoo, Dynamics) and fully custom ERP who want one vendor covering both paths.
Pricing transparency: Publishes a detailed public cost guide, including hidden and ongoing costs
A US-domestic mid-market builder notable for proof: its site lists sixteen named client case studies — including NPR and the NFL — each with quantified outcomes, and a Clutch profile showing a 5.0 rating across 74 reviews at the time of our review. Its ERP page publishes three cost tiers, from $50,000–$200,000 up to $2,000,000+.
Best for: US organisations that want a domestic team, named referenceable clients and published delivery metrics.
Pricing transparency: Publishes three project tiers on the service page
Per its published materials, around two decades in the market with 40+ completed ERP projects for enterprise clients, and hands-on practices for Odoo, SAP and Microsoft Dynamics alongside custom builds.
Best for: Enterprises extending or integrating an existing SAP/Dynamics/Odoo estate as well as building custom.
Positions on Fortune-1000 engineering per its own site, with published technology partnerships (Microsoft, AWS, Databricks, Anthropic) and case studies carrying concrete outcome metrics. Its FAQ cites typical custom-software budgets of $50,000 to $500,000.
Best for: Product-heavy builds where cloud partnerships and data engineering sit alongside the ERP core.
Pricing transparency: Publishes an indicative range in its FAQ
A Toronto firm with, per its site, 30+ years in business, Microsoft Gold certification and a fully Toronto-based team — with named Canadian clients and case studies written in operational language ("replaced 15 spreadsheets", "reduced manual work by 60%").
Best for: Canadian organisations that require onshore delivery and in-person collaboration.
Pricing transparency: Quote-based ("clear estimates and phased plans")
An India-based developer citing, in its own materials, 30+ delivered custom ERP solutions across manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, HR and finance, with module development, dashboards, automation and third-party integrations.
Best for: Cost-driven builds where an India delivery model fits the buyer’s procurement rules.
Islamabad, Pakistan — serving the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, the Gulf and Pakistan
That is us — so judge this entry by the same standard as the others. Founded 2013, with 1,200+ developers and 85+ management professionals (direct and group-company employees). What we put in writing, publicly: fixed-scope, fixed-price quotations; full source-code and IP transfer on completion, documented on a dedicated ownership page; a published five-phase delivery process with signed-off artifacts; contracts under English/Welsh law or US Delaware-friendly terms; and a published, anonymized public-sector case study (a bilingual Arabic/English government services platform in Qatar). We do not publish third-party review scores or certifications, because we do not currently hold them — the trust pages say exactly that.
Best for: Mid-market companies commissioning a first custom ERP who want a fixed written price, contractual IP ownership and senior engineers at offshore economics.
Pricing transparency: Free scoping call → indicative range within 4 business hours → fixed written quote
Your procurement requires audited certifications today. We do not currently hold ISO 27001 or SOC 2 and will not imply otherwise. ScienceSoft and Itransition publish certification credentials; start there.
You need consultants physically on-site. We deliver remotely with documented overlap hours. A domestic firm in your country — Orases in the US, Konverge in Canada — is the better structural fit.
Policy forbids offshore data handling. Data residency in your region plus a signed DPA solves this for most of our clients, but if the rule is absolute, choose onshore.
Eight questions to ask any custom ERP vendor
Who owns the source code and IP, at which milestone, and what exactly do you retain?
Show me a comparable project: scope, duration, team size, and what went wrong.
What is your written estimate process, and will you commit to a fixed price for a fixed scope?
Which named artifacts does each phase produce, and who signs them off?
What happens after launch — support tiers, response objectives, and what maintenance costs?
Which certifications do you hold — and which do you NOT hold that my procurement might expect?
What is your engineer seniority mix, and will the people on this call build my system?
If we part ways mid-project, what do I walk away with?
There is no single best — there are best fits per tier. For audited-certification enterprise programmes, firms like ScienceSoft and Itransition publish the deepest credentials. For US-domestic delivery with named references, Orases stands out. For onshore Canadian work, Konverge. For fixed-price, ownership-first builds at offshore economics, Timeline Digital competes in the value tier. Decide your delivery model and budget tier first, then compare within it.
How much does custom ERP development cost?
Published figures across the vendors in this comparison range from roughly $50,000 for a focused platform-based build to $1,500,000+ for a fully custom, all-in-one enterprise ERP (ScienceSoft and Itransition both publish ranges in that band; Orases publishes tiers from $50,000–$200,000 to $2,000,000+). Modules, integrations, data migration and compliance drive the difference. Timeline Digital provides an indicative range within 4 business hours of a free scoping call and then a fixed written quote.
Custom ERP or off-the-shelf — how do I decide?
Buy off-the-shelf when a standard tool covers ~90% of your workflow; build custom when your operating model is the competitive advantage — unusual pricing rules, industry compliance, or supply-chain logic that SaaS templates cannot express. Our detailed comparison, including five-year cost math for both paths, is at /erp-vs-custom-development.
Is an offshore ERP development company safe for enterprise data?
It can be, if you verify rather than assume: a signed DPA before live data moves, data residency in your region (for our UK/EU clients that means AWS or Azure regions you choose), role-based access, and contractual breach-notification duties. Ask any offshore vendor — including us — to complete your security questionnaire honestly and to say plainly which controls are not in place.
Why does this comparison include Timeline Digital — is it biased?
Timeline Digital publishes this guide, and our entry is written to the same standard as the others: only claims we put in writing publicly, and an explicit list of situations where a competitor is the better choice. If you need audited ISO/SOC certifications today, on-site consultants, or onshore-only delivery, the firms above are the stronger pick — and we say so.
Comparing vendors for a real project?
Bring the eight questions above to a free scoping call. You get an indicative range within 4 business hours and a fixed written quote — with full source-code ownership in the contract.
